iâ´m going to make a silicone mold, in order to make a concrete copy of this egg. for the mold we are going to need water, washing-up liquid and silicone. first, we are going to add quite a lot of the washing-up liquid to the water and stir it. then we add the silicone to the water. then we are going to get the silicone out of the water. next, we are going to add a coat of washing-up liquid to the egg, so the silicone wonâ´t stick onto the egg. then we cover the egg with the silicone. make sure to leave an opening. now, the silicone has to dry for about 24 hours.
with the rest of the silicone iâ´m going to cover a little buddha statue. now the silicone is dry and we are going to remove the mold from the egg. iâ´m going to make a cut at the back of the statueâ´s mold. next, we are going to fill concrete into the molds. we are going to fill sand into a bowl, to make sure, the mold has a solid standing. then we are going to brush the mold with oil. this will help the dry concrete come out of the mold much easier. then we are going to fill it up. it is advisable to tap out the air bubbles. weâ´re going to do the same with the statue mold, but first we apply adhesive tape, because of the cut.
i added a little more water to the concrete, to make sure it gets into every little bulge of the mold. now, the conrete has to dry a couple of days. i let the concrete dry for about 2 days and now we are going to pull it out. the concrete will take a couple of days more, to get completely dry. iâ´m going to wash out the molds and then you can reuse them. when the concrete is dry, we are going to sand down the bottom, to make sure the egg has a solid standing. now, we are finished and if you like, you can decorate the eggs.
