repair instructions for philips senseo if you like to support me, switch off your adblocker and reload this page. have fun! greetings, locke. dear youtubers, i am lukas and today iâ´d like to show you how to repair your senseo coffee machine. i have already produced another instruction video. probably you found this old one first. i produced it with low quality equipment and few time. so it was not the best video and i decided to produce a proper one, optimized and shortened. info: important: before you start, make sure your machine is isolated from current entry. the repair should be conducted by authorized experts only. after corrective maintenance, the machine has to be inspected following din vde 0701 - 0702 just to let you know: as a sample i use a senseo hd7810, about 3 years old, which just stops while boiling the water. tools of course you need some tools, in the ideal case four screwdrivers, two different sizes of slotted screwdrivers to open the machineâ´s tongues, a small phillips screwdriver to
loosen the mainboard and in the ideal case a torx, which i donâ´t have, so i recommend to use a small slotted screwdriver. just try it, iâ´m sure itâ´ll work as well. maybe a sidecutter to cut the cable straps, a soldering gun and tin solder for the interference filter, and of course the interference filter itself. optionally, hold ready some superglue and a wall plug of 6 or 8 mm just in case you damage a tongue.compensating capacitor info: class: x2 / capacity: 470nf / voltage: 250v ac / modular dimensions: 22,5 or 27,5mm disassembling letâ´s start with the disassembling. first, we need a medium size slotted screwdriver and open the machine the way you see here. now we press the screwdriver into the tongue and turn it outside. now the same thing with the other tongue. begin from inside and keep the screwdriver in the middle of the tongue. then turn it outside. now we have opened the closure head. step no. 2 is to press the tongues together to separate the upper part of the machine from the body. now press these parts together and pull the closure head upside.
the next step is a little bit tricky. you need a big slotted screwdriver. i have chosen the size 1x5,5 mm, this works fine. you now have the risk that one of the closure headâ´s tongues will get broken. donâ´t worry when this happens, you can easily fix it. i will tell you more later. now letâ´s take a closer look to the machine. you have to open the cover now. you enter the slot of the cover with the slotted screwdriver. now turn the screwdriver to the side to the left at the left slot and to the right at the right slot. i chose the left side and remove the cover now. the next step is to remove the pressure control valve. just turn it to the left and pull. then we have to remove the rear panel. we take the medium size slotted screwdriver again to open these four tongues.we put the screwdriver inside and turn it the way i do now. now that we have opened all four tongues, we still have the problem that the rear panel is fixed at the top side. but we easily cope with this challenge by taking the rear panel here and pulling it back.
well done, the rear panel is removed. after removing the rear panel, we have to pay attention to the water inlet which is fixed here. just remove it the way i do. this is how the machine looks without rear panel. now we have to open the boiler unit to reach the two torx screws to remove the bottom of the machine. thatâ´s a little bit tricky, you have to take the boiler unit and gently turn it to the left and to the right to remove it. letâ´s try it! now you see that the cables are quite short. you might release them as well, but then you have to fix them later. if you plan to remove the pipes, be careful because the boiler will pump empty then. you will have to draw the water back to the boiler by mouth -- or your machine will get broken the first time when you use it again because the boiler has no sensor for the water level. next, we have to remove this part of the cover.thatâ´s pretty easy. just handle it the way i do and push it upwards with your thumbs. now we have to remove the two torx screws. who does not own a torx screwdriver will use the slotted screwdriver now. i use a 0,5 x 3 mm screwdriver which fits exactly.
our next aim is to relieve the bottom plate. for that purpose, we have to relieve six tongues. use a bigger screwdriver for the bigger tongues and a smaller one for the small tongues. the tongues can be opened to the inner side. just look how i do it. letâ´s look at the mainboard now. it is still fixed to the bottom. you may need this phillips screwdriver to loosen it because all machines are a little bit different. in case of my machine, i just have to loosen these clips. removal of the broken interference filter you now can see the broken interference filter. the main boardâ´s layout shows that even a bigger one can be used. i will use such a bigger one now, because it has a better quality.the price was about 1,40 euros. here is the mainboardâ´s rear side. we now have to find out which soldering points belong to the interference filter.in my case they are easy to find.now we have to heat one of the two points. when the soldering tin is liquid, we relieve the filter. do this for each point separately. iâ´m gonna demonstrate it to you.
...remember to be careful with the cables. fixing the new interference filter now we start fixing the new interference filter.put it to the soldering points. then turn the mainboard and heat one of the corresponding points.when the tin is liquid, push the filter through the board. if the repetition excuses, here i have forgotten to cut a part of the video raw material out. now the filter is fixed and we need to add some more soldering tin. for that purpose we reheat the points and add some tin.thatâ´s it! letâ´s start the reconstruction. we replace the main board now. turn the buttons the way i do. put the main board to its original place till the clips are fixed. (or fix the screws)
the next step is to put the cables back to their original place. when fixing the cover parts, be careful with the cables. everything is well fixed when you hear the tongues clicking into place. by the way, you have now the occasion to clean parts like this one in the dish washer. in this case you have to ensure that no water will leak out of the boiler. as i already mentioned, an empty boiler will get broken while the first usage after your repair. now we fix this part. donâ´t forget the screws! you gotta fix the tongue first. letâ´s fix the boiler now.be careful that you donâ´t tear anything apart. the boiler is fixed when you can hear the tongues clicking.
you can now put the cables back to their place. itâ´s not that important, just look that they donâ´t get too close to the heating unit. leave the loose bottom here. first, we fix the water supply. then we replace the rear from the bottom up. while fixing the rear be careful not to damage the three-way valve. fix the dispenser on the three-way valve. now we click the closure head into place. be careful with the tongues and take a closer look how they have to be fixed. when the closure head is fixed, we just have to fix the last part. these two pegs have to be at the right place.you just have to press them together to put them to their slots.
