i want to show how to connect to the internet with a samsung galaxy s2 using wlan. that’s basically pretty simple. the key problem usually relates to the settings of the router and not to the smartphone itself, which means we access the router through the browser. how to access the router is normally written in the manual. there is a standard name and password. if you don’t have a manual at hand, there is the possibility of downloading it from the internet. just search for your device. in my case this is an ip address
192.168.1.1. it could also be a 0.1 or even a name, for example fritz.box. once you successfully logged in, search for a wlan or set up one. if necessary activate the wlan. when you have done that you should activate the ssid. that’s a name you assign which is shown in the lan. i just named it 2wo_2.4ghz.
the whole thing should definitely be encoded as effectively as possible. usually with wpa2-psk or maybe just wpa, the main thing is that you did encode it and that you did provide it with a password. once you have done that, save it, adopt it and set it up on your smartphone. go to “settingsâ€, “wireless and networksâ€, “wlan-settings†or if you already have the new ice-cream-sandwich,
you can find it under “settings†and then you activate “wlanâ€. older systems may still go for “wireless and networksâ€. if that’s the case activate the whole thing under wlan. tap the “wlanâ€, scan and the device now shows everything it can find in its surroundings. in our case it also shows the 2wo_2.4ghz,
which is protected by wpa2. tap the 2wo_2.4ghz and it requests the password which we set up before. type it in and tap “connectâ€. the device obtains an ip address and tells us that it’s already connected. to check this, open the internet and access for example google. done!
