rusty effect guide: how to use the effect powder and the reagents first, in a bowl or directly on the surface, add effect powder to any kind of paste consistency material... mix the two (it doesn't have to be homogeneous) and spread it on the surface to achieve an even rustier effect, more powder can be added to the paste now. press in with a spatula and your hands! afterwards, drip the different rust effect reagents on the surface one after the other (the surface doesn't have to be dry) disperse the reagent liquid with a brush, mixing them together any paste material can be used in this way: primer paste, gel paste, structure paste, mineral paste, even cracking paste can be mixed with the effect powder! the application method is the same, but the resulting rust effect will depend on the colour of the paste, thus, lighter and darker shades can be achieved too. the effect powder can be applied to self-adhesive surfaces too: add glue to the object...
...then sprinkle with rust effect powder on press down with your fingers, then shake off (and collect) the excess powder! then come the reagents using the usual method to achieve a dripped rust effect, use a lighter colour base (e.g. primer paste)... ...then place the elements to be rusted in it when the surface has dried, simply pour liquid rust on the elements! after 24 hours, the rust effect develops completely... the surface can be made more durable by adding a coat of matte water based varnish!
