schuhregal selber machen ideen

we live in a vw t3, 1991.it has a water-cooled boxer engine, 95 hp. this is the rear storage box, it has a lock and two lock nuts. the lock opens when you twist it around. how does it work again? you have to twist the lock left and right, at some point it will open itself. unless your name is janin, then it is never going to open. can you come here? the rear storage box is welded and made of stainless steel pipes. the side paneling is made of macrolon. the door is made of aluminum. the paneling is riveted to the steel pipes.

this is how the lock works. normally there are two chairs inside the box as well, but the dogs are using those right now. all our kite stuff is inside the box, the awning, … what else is inside? in the aluminum box are things we don’t need very often. eg.: petrol stove, tent, a lot of ropes and a slackline. we put the replenishing tank here because we have been losing a bit coolant lately. we are still waiting for the parts from germany to fix the leak. we have to empty the storage box every time we check oil and coolant. now we can check the coolant here. we have a tension regulator here and another one over there. we have two solar panels on the car. one on the roof rack and another one on the storage box.

both have 100 watts, but different tensions so we needed two tension regulators. the spare wheels are fixed with studs and a tension belt. louder. we have 4 sand ladders behind the box. do i have to open the lock before i can get them out? where is the key? show us how flexible they are. more! more! be careful.

i will put the lock back on - later. follow me. here we have a 15 l spare canister for petrol. the storage box is belayed to the car at three different points. 1. on the tow coupling, with 4 screws. it’s 4, isn’t it? come on, janin. let’s count. one, … janin: i did not know, if you were hiding more screws somewhere. 2. on the d-pillar. we can tighten the screws inside by removing the scuttle.

3. on the carrier. the carrier is fixed on the tailgate. i cannot find the tire size right now… we have brakes from a t4 in the back. dogs, it is too much now. steffen: luke, pull him away. janin: no, no, no. we have borbet alloy wheels and tires from bfgoodrich, size 235 70 r16. on the back axle, we have anti-lock disc brakes from a t4. on the front axle, we have air-cooled anti-lock brakes from audi. we have 400 kg stronger suspension in the back.

and the suspension from a vw t3 2 wd in the front. we converted the car to lpg. there are two 40 l lpg tanks underneath the car. we can put about 70 l lpg into the two tanks. 70 l lpg = 500 km on a highway. off road we get less far. the original 70 petrol tank is still in the car. we can get 1100 km far with petrol and lpg. here is the engine-independent water heating system, it also drives our underfloor heating. here is a 60 l water tank, self-build. it got a bit dented from the off road driving. it’s still leak-proof though. we use this water for showering and for cleaning the dishes. the water lasts for a long time.

we got rid of the viscous fan clutch and drive now with differential locks. one is in the front , on in the middle and one in the back. this is the battery indicator. showing us the power we have left in the second battery. underneath the bench seat we have a 85 ah battery. second battery. the passenger seat is on a self-build rotatable console. this gives us extra space inside the car. this is a 35 l compressor fridge. it is great because it works and it is battery-saving. this is our cooker. we cook with a 1 kg gas bottle. 1 kg lasts for about one week. we refill the bottle with lpg when we get lpg for the car. or when it needs a refill.

this is the holder for the cooker. it is normally used for a shelf. we usually cook outside. this is our table. in this drawer is all our cutlery. our knifes, lighter , etc. are inside this one. a luke box. in case he gets sick. some of luke's medicine, etc. anti-diarrhoeal medicine and lots of stuff against mosquitoes and ticks. this is how we usually cook. if it is too cold or too windy outside, we can also cook inside.

this is a 20 l fresh water tank. here is stowage for camera tripods and our folding shovel. the rack is from ikea (children's department). we can remove the drawers easily, this is handy for cooking and cleaning. here is some more storage. here is our camera, the first aid kid, ... the first aid kid is very full. almost everything to patch up ourselves, if something happens. here is another luke bag. here is a travel drinking bottle and a leash. here is a fire blanket and an extinguisher. steffen build a floor heating for the car. this switch is for turning the floor heating off and on. it uses the hot coolant from the engine or the engine-independent water heating system.

inside this box is luke’s dog food. it can be used as an extra seat. the box is water proof so we can put it outside and don’t have to have it inside the car all the time. here are all our tools. a hydraulic jack, a tire pump. here is our board battery (85ah). everything inside this car runs with 12 volts, also the charge cable for our laptops. some more tools. this is the most important box inside the car. here is some electronic stuff, fuses, cable, fuel feed pipes, laces, a small boring machine. what else?

sprays, oil sprays, brake cleaner fluid - that one is empty, isn’t it? almost. shrink-on tubes! and a soldering iron. steffen: the other way around. there is so little space. the bench does not close anymore when i pack this. good example. steffen, can you do this? we have a chain hoist underneath the seat bench as well.

in case we get suck somewhere and there is no one around to help us. it weights how much? 80 kg? no, thats too heavy, isn't it? steffen: no idea. how am i supposed to know that? anyway, it's very heavy. anyways, it is very heavy. it has a 6 m long steel chain. steffen: only 6 m? janin: more?

steffen: 12. this is steffens shaver and my epilator is here somewhere as well. all with 12 volts. i converted the epilator by myself. show us your epilated legs. you are an idiot. no! finished. these are steffens and my clothes. we put them on the driver’s seat at night.

we have original vw t3 curtains. janin, your shoes are inside the bed! they are not! the shoes are not inside the bed, they are above the bed. we changed the windows in the back. we used alu dibond sheets and fitted them to the car. in the back, we used lucite because we wanted to look outside the back window for driving. it was a bit harder to build in because the rear window is bent, but eventually everything fit. this is our roof rack. steffen build it with mohammed in turkey. so far there is only a solar panel attached. we have to clean it again sometime.

there is a big gab because of the sun roof. we weigh 2 600 kg and – that’s it! and the breaks are from a t4.
